Traditional, authentic steel drum band from the gulf coast of Florida. We’re preferred vendors at the Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach and the Don CeSar on St. Petersburg Beach, but we perform all over central Florida including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, Bradenton, Longboat Key, Siesta Key, Lido Beach and Anna Maria Island. Our members have performed steel drums with the Tampa Bay Steel Orchestra, and the Florida Orchestra. We play all kinds of events, but we specialize in traditional steel pan for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and rehearsal dinners. Parties and events in Florida need a real steel drum band! We’ve appeared at Busch Gardens, Dunedin Mardi Gras, Gasparilla, and many other events and venues. We can provide small combos, or a big carnival band.

I was recommended the Caladesi Steel Band for an outdoor Palm Royale-themed event, and one of the first things I noticed was how reasonable the cost was compared to similar entertainment options! When I initially reached out, Dave Holmstrand responded the same day and took the time to answer all of my questions. From day one, he promised they would create the perfect vibe for our group without being too loud or overbearing, and that is exactly what they did!

On the day of our event, Dave and John Shaw arrived on time and needed no assistance getting set up. Throughout the event, they were constantly reading the crowd and playing just the right songs to keep the energy going and everyone entertained. Once they discovered my favorite song, they made sure to play it for me, and they also took requests from their song list from attendees, which was such a fun touch.

Despite it being very hot during our event, our attendees stayed until the very end, and I truly believe that was due in large part to the atmosphere the Caladesi Steel Band created. They were easy to work with, professional, and brought exactly the energy we were hoping for. I hired Dave to play at the welcome party for my son's wedding weekend. His music set the vibe for the entire party experience! Almost all of the guests came from out of town and really appreciated the steel drum experience. Also, the event space didn't have a sound system we could use and Dave was so accommodating; coming to the event early so we could use his microphone and speaker during the rehearsal dinner beforehand. We LOVED having Caladesi Steel Band for our wedding ceremony! My husband's top request was steel drums and the trio we got was a stunning background for our beachside wedding! I had a special request for a Taylor Swift song to walk down the aisle to and Dave said "no problem" right away and made it happen. We ended up having to move our ceremony indoors day-of due to weather and I can't imagine the space being the same without their music setting the tone. They also played throughout our cocktail hour and provided incredible ambiance. My only wish would be that we could have spent more time at our cocktail hour enjoying the wonderful music!
